Your day begins with a comfortable vehicle tour to the summit of Haleakala volcano, an ascent that takes you to an impressive elevation of nearly 10,000 feet above sea level. Along the way, enjoy the insightful commentary provided by your guide, who will share fascinating information about the park’s geology, flora, fauna, and cultural significance.

Self Guided Morning Crater Views

2. Informative Tour of Haleakala National Park:

Upon arrival at the summit, take part in an informative tour of Haleakala National Park. This guided experience provides you with a deeper understanding of the park’s unique features, including the volcanic crater, native Hawaiian plants, and the significance of the area to Hawaiian culture.

3. Bike Ride Begins:

As your national park tour concludes, get ready for an exhilarating adventure like no other. Your selfguided bike ride starts just outside the park entrance at an elevation of approximately 6,500 feet. The crisp mountain air and panoramic vistas create the perfect backdrop for your downhill journey.

Self Guided Morning Switchbacks

4. “Fabulous 29” Switchbacks:

Prepare for the thrill of a lifetime as you descend the world-famous “Fabulous 29” switchbacks down through the historic Haleakala Ranch. 6. Bike Ride Resumes:

Your biking adventure continues in the beautiful area of Olinda, riding past Haleakala Ranch, Oskie Rice Rodeo, and Kaonoulu Ranch. Make a stop in the paniolo (cowboy) town of Makawao and browse the quaint shops after enjoying a delicious lunch (no host). Afterwards, continue riding your bike down to the historic North Shore town of Haiku where our shop is located, and the bike ride concludes.

Great Experience

Excellent bike company and great customer service. First time at crater with my wife and boy did we have a blast. The guides made it a great experience and comfortable one.

Awesome

Easy check in, organized, shuttle ride informative, driver made sure we knew how to get back on self guided portion, excellent experience. Would definitely book with this company again!

Interesting culture, beautiful scene and fun downhill

We got exactly what we thought we would get. It was the self guided downhill. The rest is guided and well done. If you are confident on a bicycle, it’s perfect for you. If you are a little apprehensive on a bike, you might consider the guided tour. They use vans to block the traffic from behind and pull over a bunch to let the car traffic pass. If you are confident on a bike, this will drive you kinda crazy. Either way, it’s worth getting up too early on a vacation morning.

Summit Tour is a Must

My husband and I loved the summit tour and are glad we paid for this portion of the tour instead of just doing the bike ride. We really enjoyed going into the park, seeing the view from the top of Mt. Haleakala including the surrounding islands, and seeing the summit and crater. The bike trip down was also a lot of fun. There weren’t as many places to stop along the way as I had expected, but we had a nice lunch and the views were great. Our tour guide for the summit tour was wonderful too.

Great Views

This is a must do on any visit to Maui. Great ride, great views, and great guides! Tim and Ron are very knowledgeable and patient picture takes! Highly recommend for anyone. It’s a self guided ride and you never feel rushed, you can stop whenever ar you want.
