Departure from our shop approximately 2 hours before sunrise. Transportation up to Haleakala Summit, view crater, guided van tour (1-1 1/2 hours) of the park. Stage at 6500 feet, just outside park entrance. We furnish Gary Fisher mountain bike, helmet backpack, rain/wind gear, gloves and map with points of interest. Self guided bike ride down the mountain back to store in Haiku by 4:00pm. **NEW OFFER...Transportation from your hotel to our shop for our Sunrise Special bike ride can be provided for and extra $20 a person. We will pick you up at your hotel approximately 2 hours before our scheduled departure time. You then you'll be treated to an island tour as we shuttle you and other passengers from West, South or Central Maui to our location in beautiful Haiku, located on the north shore of the island. Customers that choose to BE PICKED UP will have the convenience of not having to deal with drive times and directions. Although the bike ride is self-paced, the designated return time to our shop will be 11:00am in order to return you to your hotel. If you miss this departure time, public transportation is available provided by the county every hour and a half starting at 12:15pm. Customers that choose to DRIVE TO OUR LOCATION in Haiku will have the extended freedom to bike down and not have to be back to our shop until 4:00pm, our closing time. You will also have the convenience of your own car, allowing you to further explore this side of Maui right after your bike trip. ---------------------------------------- CANCELLATION POLICY All paid bookings will be charged a ten percent (10%) cancellation fee in the last 15 days before departure. It is our way of charging off processing fees associated with a sale that is otherwise unrecoverable. The last 48 hours before departure, you will be charged a fifty percent(50%) cancellation fee. The last 24 hours before the tour - Absolutely no refund. No Refunds on "No Shows". Activities may be canceled by Haleakala Bike Co. for reasons including but not limited to inclement weather, lack of participation, etc. In the event of a canceled activity the following options will be available to the clients. A trip that is cancelled prior to any provided transportation into Haleakala National Park will result in a NO CHARGE and the option to RESCHEDULE. Any activity called off at the designated staging area after entering Haleakala National Park will be charged an automatic 50% of the total trip cost and have the option of rescheduling their bike ride for the balance of the original price. Any activity canceled or rescheduled by the individual clients within 24 hours of their activity date including the day of the activity, will be CHARGED IN FULL on the original scheduled day of their activity. Customers that are unable to reschedule will receive a rain check voucher for the activity that can be redeemed at a later date. Customers that choose to opt out of the bike ride portion for personal reasons that may vary, will be charged in full, but will receive a rain check voucher that they may use at a later date based on space available. Insure your bike and equipment for an extra $4 per person. Payable at the time of check-in.
Definitions: Children under 8 years of age cannot ride by themselves. 6-8 year olds can ride on trailer-bikes.
